Sexual market value

By Serge Kreutz

I sometimes don't even know whether love is real. I am always certain that hate is.

Sexual market value is not fair. Young beats old. Fresh beats used. Slender beats fat. Beauty is better than the opposite.

Sexual market value is also racist. White, most of the time, ranks better than brown or black. In Europe, natives outclass immigrants.

Losers hate it. They also hate those who rank better. It's either catch up, or become destructive.

Sexual relationships are best understood as trade.

In rich civilizations, the trade mostly involves immaterial assets: physical attractiveness, pleasant and helpful character, sincerity, charm. Good education, good job. Most couples are a match of equal qualities, or comparable sexual capital.

In Third World countries, in societies of need, material assets are more important. Rich men and rich women usually get what they want.

It's trade either way, whether immaterial assets are exchanged against similar immaterial assets, or against material ones. But foolishly, only the latter is considered transactional.

Western societies, where only the exchange of immaterial assets is condoned, are inherently prone to ageism. In spite of all laws that protect vulnerable elderlies, they don't have value.

In traditional East Asian culture, seniority is an asset in itself. The wealth of a family belongs to the grandfather and grandmother, until they are both dead. Ancestor worship is a common religion.

Poor societies are less ageist. While nobody gets more attractive when becoming older, many can get richer.

Humans are much better adapted to live in economies of need. A high GDP is a wealth trap. It makes people independent, and lonely. Much better if people need each other for economic reasons. That this weaves emotional fabric is not just a windfall; it is the essence.

I would never want to live in a rich society. If I can be rich in a poor society, that's great. It will not only make life easy, but also give me sexual market value, never mind how old I am.
